CHRYSANTHEMUM STONE

From the Hunan Province in China a beautiful natural Chrysanthemum Stone, a unique crystal formation with calcite and celestite forming the flower petals and chert forming the stamen and pistil. Found exclusively in the Qixia Formation in Liuyang, China. The geologic history pertains to the Mesozoic Era, with deposits of a thick strata of mud rich in organic materials including flora and fauna occurred at the bottom of a sea. As the layers were compacted, these sediments were buried by continuous deposits of more mud. At these lower depths it allowed radial growth of celestite formations that remained as patterns in the solidified limestone. Today the material is found as boulders in a river and then broken open by workers and trimmed of excess rock.

Chrysanthemum Stone is also a stone of harmony and change. Ancient Chinese history dictates that the Chrysanthemum Stone helps one to bloom and to progress on the path toward the perfect self and is considered helpful for time travellers.
